As a natural light photographer, my instinct is to always look for light in the darkest of places. This can be very difficult especially for night photography.

This session with Jessica Villarreal, thought me to push beyond my boundaries and fears. Beyond loss or failure. Like most of us who have experienced difficult circumstances, where there is no easy way out. Our first instinct is to run away, ignore it or try to get through it on your own. Consumed by fear we forget that we are not alone in the darkness.

Depression/anxiety is a huge mountain that I know a lot of people struggle with. I've learned to find contentment in the darkness as well as light, because I know I am not alone.

If you ever find yourself in a dark place, understand you are not alone in that mess, in the fears, in that painful place. God sees the journey you are on, even when you cannot. Don't be afraid of that which scares you most.

Isaiah 41:10 " Don't panic. I'm with you . There 's no need to fear for I'm your God. I'll give you strength. I'll help you. I'll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you." Don't be afraid of that which scares you most.
